We recently popped into AZ Hops and Vines Winery in Arizona for a tasting sesh that exceeded my expectations. Not only is the place downright fun —we’re talking cornhole & backyard games- but their wines are seriously incredible, too (think bold blends with names like Lil’ Mama’s Rescue Red).

The tasting room is a lovely setting with views of the surrounding terrain, and there’s no getting over it – their Cabernet Franc has stolen our hearts (and palate). Richly concentrated flavors complemented by velvety tannins… it’s like love-making for your taste buds.

I recently made my way to the stunning Dos Cabezas winery in Southeastern Arizona and was super impressed. The vineyard’s focus on Rhône varietals such as Grenache – which deserves numerous tastings – is both exciting & applauded. The staff struck me with their knowledge of Mediterranean grapes but also sustainability practices.

We swung by the Alcantara Vineyard in Cottonwood and boy, oh boy, did they impress me. Walking past these rows & seeing all those clusters of luscious grape goodness was like being transported to Wine Heaven (or Napa).
The family-owned winery makes several varietals using grapes sourced from their vineyards positioned along sparkling river Verde; one glass after another, there just wasn’t a bad choice: especially that Rosé Javelina Pink.
